Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching?

Professional coaching is an ongoing relationship which focuses on the client taking action twoard the realization of their visions, goals, or desires.

How does coaching work?

Focused questioning is used to get to the underlying issues of a person's goals, motivation and performance, with the goal of enabling the client to become the best they can be in what they choose to pursue. A typical example of contact would be weekly or biweekly telephone seesions of forty-five minutes to one hour for at least three months.

How is coaching different than consulting or training?

The coach acts a 'partner' rather than an 'expert' in the relationship. The coach reminds them of their dreams . . . believes in their ability as a person and holds them bigger than they might do themselves.

For many, mid-life is a natural time to reevaluate past career choices and consider new courses of action. there is often a sense of urgency that future choices be more closely linked to personal interests, and that these choices bring greater balance and sense of purpose to life.

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and dtermination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race." Calvin Coolidge

Money as a carrot is lousy food for thought.
